Early this month Xiaomi released a phone with 108MP camera, the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 as known as Xiaomi Mi cc9 pro. This is not a review of the phone, but this is a review about its Penta camera system. Do mid-upper range chip (Snapdragon 730G) can handle 108,000,000 pixels? Do 6gb ram enough? Is 50x zoom some gimmick?

With Quad flash system with 4k recording and super-slow motion with supper steady video recording. Wow, what a smartphone?
Main 108MP camera
When you shoot in 108MP mode, there is too much noise in low light, because one photodiode is so small and it can get a small amount of light. The phone has a 3/4inch sensor, and there are 108,000,000 photodiodes in 3/4 inch. In daylight 108MP is killer. But snapdragon 730g upper mid-range chip can’t process all 108million pixels. With a resolution of 12,032 x 9,024. After tapping the camera button, there is some processing time because of the chipset. Sometimes the camera app Freeze. This primary camera sensor is from Samsung. It calls ISOCELL Bright HMX 108 MP sensor. This mi note 10 aka mi cc9 pro had 121 marks from DXOmarks.com when the time of writing this is highest smartphone score so far, and Huwaei’s all-new $1200 mate 30 pro also had 121 points. According to sensor size Mi note, 10 aka Mi cc9 pro sensor is 1/1.33-inch, and that is very small when compared with a full-frame camera. But it bigger than Huawei’s 1/1.7-inch sensor. Also, You need proper storage to handle these big pictures. One image can be 40 megabytes. This phone only 128GB and 256GB version and no expandable sd card slot.
Also, this phone use pixel-binding technology and make excellent 27MP photos. Pixel binding technology means the phone combines small four individual pixels to create significant, better single pixel. In 27MP mode, Dynamic range is perfect, and noise reduction works well. Also colours more real in 27MP mode.
because this big camera, MI note 10 has some issues,
- High contrast shots with very bright backlighting produce noticeable amounts of chromatic aberration
- There are some focus issues, some times daylight image also out of focus as well
- There is a significant Lens Distortion. But building those wide aperture lenses without distortion is a very tricky business because it has a 7-layer lens.
In the night this camera is struggling to take good pictures without noise. Most of the time, low light phots detailed and clean, but sometimes there is much noise in dark parts.
12MP 2x Optical zoom lens and 5MP 10x hybrid zoom lens
The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 also had another 12MP 2x zoom camera and another 10x hybrid zoom lens. With this 108MP big primary camera on the back proper for cutting and cropping, that option strikes me as somewhat odd. Is this 12MP telephoto camera captures any more detail than the primary sensor? Yes, it does, you can get a lot more information with that, but 2x camera do some over-sharpening. If you are a user of Huawei p30 pro or any smartphone with 50x zoom, you might sometimes know 4.8x is burly and 5.1x very sharp because it has 5x optical lens. Because of that Mi note, 10 uses 2x optical lens and also 5x optical lens. There are no blind spots. Mi note 10 aka Mi cc9 pro is swiss army knife of camera. By the way, 5x optical lens is not actually 5 times zoom lens, it is 3.7x, and it cropped out the image into 5x zoom range.
20 MP ultrawide camera and 2MP dedicated macro camera
You can get very close shots and wide shots without using a lens kit. These cameras are excellent. The macro camera is only 2 megapixels, but it performs well enough. This macro camera has an F/2.4 aperture, and it means this camera has an outstanding field of view. 20MP ultrawide camera means you can get ultrawide shots with 20 million pixels with many details. also you can zoom and chop it later.
This smartphone can record 4k @30fps, but these days lots of smartphones can shoot 4k @60fps. Because of snapdragon 730g, this phone is not speeding enough to do that. Xiaomi Mi Note 10 also have slow motion 1080p @60fps, 1080p @120fps or 1080p @240fps, even this phone support 720p @960fps super slow motion as well, the primary 108MP camera also support Optical image stabilizer because of that, you cant get super steady videos as well. Mi Note 10 has all new vlog mode. NO need primer pro, NO need apple final cut pro. Vlog mode and make your videos into stunning vlogs in few seconds.
Mi Note 10 has 32MP front camera with 1080p @30fps. That means you can get absolutely stunning very detailed images and good quality selfie videos . also you can get portrait shots and some filters as well.
Also, this smartphone has a massive 5260MAH battery with 30watt fast type c charging, Super AMOLED 6.37 inch display with 2340×1080 pixels, Hdr 10 and Dolby atmos sounds and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. also, this smartphone comes with Google Android 9.0 with MIUI 11 and it can upgrade android 10 Q in future. you do not need to worry about the battery you can use your all six cameras all day long. You can get six cameras with totally 179 million pixels, massive battery, excellent display and upper-mid ranger chip is just $599 only. If you want more power, you can get one plus 7t pro or real me x2 pro with snapdragon 855 plus (best chip in 2019) and 90hz fluid display. But if you look at the camera and sweet phone, this is best for you. Xiaomi Mi Note 10 as known as Xiaomi CC9 pro is swiss army knife of camera.
