The Russian project
You know this is a Russian production. Not only that, actually it is Russia’s space agency Roscosmos production. The main goal of this spacecraft is observing the weather of the earth.
It is a satellite. This satellite is named as Electro – L 3. That was released to the orbit from the proton rocket. I think you remembered my previous article about the Russian spacecraft. Definitely, you have to remember. In that, I told you about a spacecraft that launched for the Russian military services. Then you think that the purpose of this is even for the military services.
No, that is incorrect. This is assigned to observe the weather changes in the earth. This is a geostationary ground-based satellite. Through this spacecraft, one portion of the earth can be covered. Then you are thinking about what is the specialty of knowing weather conditions.
Think for some time. Those reactions in the atmosphere can conclude about the rains, droughts, and floods. Therefore we follow safety precautions with the observations. Through that, the government and we can avoid the losses of human lives and the distraction of the properties. How important is that???

Electro – L 3
As in the above, this is the third satellite in the electro L series. The basic details are as follows. You know proton rocket released this satellite into space. That is the fifth launch of the Proton rocket within this year. Normally this is known as the weather rocket. At the time electro L 3 launched, the only functioning satellite is the electro L2.
This spacecraft has a mass of about 2094 kg while it has a payload mass of 2283 kg. The scientists have planned to keep this spacecraft about ten years in the orbit. The upper stage of this satellite is Block DM- 03.
The Early two satellites launched by the Zenit rocket. Therefore the third rocket even planned to release by the same. But later, that changed from the Zenit to proton rocket. Can you guess what the reason is??? That is because of the wake of Russia’s conflict with Ukraine. That is the reason for that. In the beginning, this satellite was planned to launch at the end of 2016 or at the beginning of 2017. Then it was postponed to the end of 2017. Then for 2018, after that, finally for 2019.
The reason for such postpone is technical issues. After correcting all of that, it flew into space on the 24th of December 2019. On the 15th of August 2019, the Elektro L no. Three were shipped from the NPO Lavochkin. Before the launching of a spacecraft, there are some procedures that have to be done. There are tests to conduct. Some of them are the testing of the vacuum chamber and the electrical and the vibration tests. There are some other little tests are even for the launching.
