You know about curiosity. Curiosity can be termed as an urgent need to know something. That is a common feature for all humans. We all have curiosity. Specifically, when we feel something, we don’t know. Curiously we are trying to find what that is. As the experience, finally, you can find that unknown fact with curiosity. Therefore scientists had launched the above rover with curiosity. That is fine. With curiosity, they have launched curiosity rover. Today we are here to see about the observations and the missions that curiosity mission has done. Other than that, we can see this creation.
About the curiosity mission

Mainly there are wheels for the rover. The total number of wheels is six. Very recently, the rover had crossed the Butte area. The Western part of it. The middle left wheel is dangling about 6 inches from the land.
Scientists changed the launching schedule. Why was that??? According to the telemetry data, there can be seen a rover’s wheel damaged out in the air. About this rover, Claire Newman told the following.
“This meant we needed to do a short bump to adjust the rover’s position ready for Monday ‘s planning and had to postpone the contact science we want to do while the rover sits at its highest point in Western Butte”.
Newman is an atmospheric scientist with Aeolis research. The mid-wheel of the rover can be easily fixed. This is making new missions in their own way. Missions in which do you think?? The observations are inside of the Mars atmosphere and the surface of Mars. You know there is a photo captured by the rover. That photograph is little but unclear. The photo was focused on the rover’s two wheels. But wheelie action cannot be seen.
Popping a wheelie will apply some power to the wheels in the rover. Because of that, NASA has to make the position of the machine correctly. As a solution for that, NASA invented a new procedure for the curiosity rover. That application will help to manage the damaged wheels. As a result of that, the wheelie problem will be reduced.
Do you know how these rover’s wheels are damaged? The wheels may face cracks. Those cracks occur due to the rough and rocky terrains. The damages are causing continuously. But NASA hopes for long journeys with the minimum number of a wheelie.
Car or rover?

Here in the above, I told you some of the most important details about the project of Mars. More details will report in the future. Then we can see some basic details of the curiosity rover through the following.
Curiosity is amazing. It is similar to a car. I mean not the design, the size of the curiosity rover. This is to explore the Gale crater on Mars. This is a mission by NASA’s Mars science laboratory mission. This was launched on the 26th of November 2011. The launching place was Cape Canaveral. Recently I told you about another such type of launch from the Cape Canaraval site. Then it landed on Mars on the 6th of August 2012. The recent observation made the thought of this article.
Here in the above, I told you that the main achievement through the above paragraph. There are other missions, as well. That project is for the investigation of the Martian climate and geology. To find about the weather conditions inside the crater. Plus, to determine the weather condition is suitable for microbial lives or not. To find about the water present on the planet Mars.
2711 total days in mars,

This curiosity rover includes the type of Mars rover. This is operated by NASA. In other than that the manufacturer is the Boeing. Also, In the above, I told you that this rover landed in 2012. In 2017, NASA celebrated the fifth celebration after the landing. And you know until the present it is operating actively. Curiosity rover spent 2711 total days on Mars.
I think you can remember about the Mars 2020 rover. This looks similar to the above curiosity rover. This curiosity rover mainly focused on the MSL mission. There is a scientific goal for this mission too. It is to check whether Mars had ever supported for living beings.
And,
The MSL mission has mainly eight missions. Those eight are categories under biological, geological, geochemical, planetary process, and surface radiation. For your knowledge, I’ll tell you some of them here. You can see it as follows.
- Investigation of the formation and the existence of the organic carbon compounds.
- Investigation of the building unit of life. Those building units are oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen.
- To detect features in the effects of the biological processes.
- Want to identify the chemical, isotopic, and composition of the surface of Mars.
- To find out the processes of the formation of rocks and soils.
- Detect the state and the existence of the cycling of the water
- To find about the galactic radiation, cosmic radiation, solar proton events, and secondary neutrons.
Those are the main goals through the curiosity rover. Then after the landing of the curiosity, it had found that this planet hospitable for microbial life. After these findings, there are more new instruments making for the safety of organic compound ls and the biomolecules.
In the above, I told you that this is size as a car. It has a mass of about 899 kg. Exceptionally there us a mass of 80 kg. That is the mass of scientific instruments. This is the 2.9-meter long rover. You know that for operating any instrument, there has to be a power source. Without any power, we can’t operate any instrument. This is not only allocated for the rovers but also for any vehicle.
Rover had,

This rover is powered by a radioisotope thermoelectric generator. Do you know how they can produce power to the rover?? They are producing energy from the decay of the radioactive isotope. And there are heat rejection systems. There is a rapidly changing temperature on the landing site. That range is approximately about – 127 Celsius to 40 Celsius. When there is a very low temperature, the warm can be maintained via this system.
There are two other computers. Those are known as rover computer elements. Those are capable of tolerating high radiation of the space as well as that it can safeguard the power-off cycles. The rover has four processors. All those four processors are single-core processors.
There are many modes of communication presence inside the rover: x band transmitter and a receiver and UHF Electra lite software-defined radio. Through the above equipment, the connection with the Mars orbiter can be maintained. The speed of data transformation is in 2000 kbit per second or 256 kbit per second. There is a rocker-bogie suspension. There are six of them. Each one has a diameter of 50 cm.
CAMERAS,
Then we come to the last part of this article. In the above, even though we talked about some parts included in this river. Apart from them, there are some other important parts. Now we will see them. The most important one is the camera. Cameras are essential to take photographs. Usually, spacecraft and rovers contain high-resolution cameras, and even they are made with the latest technology. In this river, there are about 17 cameras. The list of cameras as follows.
8 Hazcams, four Navcam, two-mast cams, MAHLI 1, MARDI 1, and the ChemCam 1. These cameras provide multiple spectral photographs and true color imaging cameras. And there are some other instruments to measure the pressure, humidity, and temperature of the outer environment. For that, there is a package of instruments called an ultraviolet sensor. That was provided by the Spanish astrobiology Centre. Other than that, there is an instrument to detect the alpha particles. That instrument is known as the alpha Particle Xray spectrometer.
Now I came closer to the end of this article. The recent details about the curiosity rover made me write this. I told you the most important details about this. We can see another set of new details in the future because another mission is starting recently, except for those in the future.
